Locke Branch Closing for Renovations
HAMILTON, ON – February 27, 2018 – Hamilton Public Library’s Locke Branch is undergoing construction and will close for renovations beginning on Saturday, March 3 at 5:00 p.m. The branch is expected to reopen in Fall 2018. More information is available at hpl.ca.
WHAT: To accommodate customers while the Branch is closed, a Bookmobile stop has been added to the Melrose Church parking lot (off Stanley Ave) every Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. starting Friday, March 9. All Locke customer holds pickup locations will be changed to Westdale after the closure. Customers who would prefer a different pickup location can contact Locke Branch staff to make the change. During renovations, the drop box will not be available at the branch. Customers can return materials to any other HPL location or Bookmobile stop. The closest branch locations are Westdale (955 King St. W.), Central (55 York Blvd.) and Terryberry (100 Mohawk Rd. W.)
WHO: Locke renovations are part of a planned branch renewal project. Hamilton Public Library gratefully acknowledges specially allocated ward funds from the Ward 1 community and Councillor Aidan Johnson.
WHEN: Locke Branch officially closes on Saturday, March 3 at 5 p.m. for a period of approximately seven months.
